From Mabuchi Motors website, the RS-775 is capable of handling 18 volts.

being a .5volts greater may burn it up faster, but it would work until then. if you want to stay safe then a 5s Life pack would come in just under the recommended voltage.

Oh, they are Mabuchi motors? Sweet, this is what i found.

18V is actually nominal voltage. According to the website, the voltage rage is from 6v to 20v. I think I'm good then! If this is the same motor that's in the hudy box.

dude i just gotta hand held starter motor and it works soooooooooo much better for me than those darn starter boxes. my gt2 hadda starter box with 2 motors in it and a gel cell and the darn thing just kept overheating and eventually about cooked it. so i gotta handheld with the rubber flywheel attatchment and have no probs with 10th or 8th scale stuff....

I've been using 5s on my Ofna dual 775 truggy box for a year now - no issues, and it could turn over a small black Chevy...
