Hey I'm looking into getting the thunder tiger st-1 pro kit or possibly the Hotbodies D8T, this is my first kit ever so I have some questions before i buy it

Do you need any special tools or just a screwdriver and a cross-wrench to build it? (I know you need lock-tite and CA glue)
Will the XTM 24.7 engine fit on this?
Does the kit come with a clutch bell or will i need to buy that separately?
Do I have to buy shock oil/differential oil? Or do they come with the kit?

Sorry for all of the annoying questions, and thanks to anybody who answers them!

1. Typically the manufacture includes basic allen wrenches to assist in assembling the kit. I do recommend buying a good set of wrenches(easier on the hands and fingers)

2. The XTM engine should fit without a problem.

3. It should include the clutchbell

4. I know most kits included oils and fluids to run the basic setup but you may want to put what you prefer or a particular setup on it to begin with.

IMHO if I were you I'd get the HB D8T. Plainly cause there is a lot more parts support for it then the TT.

Good luck. The best part of the hobby is building a new kit. Makes me want to go buy another car just to do it.

You will need a good set of hex wrenches the L shaped Allen's that come with the kit are not nice on the hands. It will take 12+ hours on your 1st build so set aside plenty of time and be patient. The most reasonable set of tools is the dynamite brand. They are decent quality and they won't break the bank.

This was my 1st set and I still have them in my box. I use Judy tools but these are still around.

And you will need a 5.5mm wrench as well.

You will also need a pair of needle nose pliers and a glow plug wrench and 17mm wheel nut wrench would be nice but the kit might come with something. Hope that helps. BTW I'll have to check but I think I have a tool that came with the Losi cars that has a wheel wrench and plug wrench on one end. If you want it pm me and I'll ship it to you. Just pay the postage I just looked and I have the wheel wrench and an old plug wrench that's yours if you want it

I strongly would consider going the d8t route. Also yes tools L wrenches will be included. Your clutchbell and assembly will come to. Also i strongly would stray away from the xtm engine. Look into a werks b5, dynamite, alpha, or even a GO 5 port. The go will scream and you can get them in a comb with pipe for low $200. finally yes the d8t includes shock and diff fluids. But pay great attention and take your time on a first kit you wont regret it and it will help you learn the car much better. I also strongly recomend you buy calipers because setting toe and everything is much easier to do exact measurements. The hb plastics and durability for the price is a 1 in a million and they are raced everywhere. So parts and help is alot more common then a thunder tiger. If you want this truck to bash or to race i would still stay away from the xtm and thunder tiger. If you spend the extra money off the bat it wont haunt you later!
