Default Removal of a pinion on a thunder tiger starter box motor?

Hey guys

I bought a replacement motor for my thunder tiger starter box. However, the old motor has the nylon pinion on it, no set screw. I read about using heat to remove and place it on the new motor, but need more info. Has anyone had to do this?
thanks in advance

Mate I've been down this road recently. If it's a nylon pinion forget it. Go buy the motor with the right pinion on it. If it's the metal one you could try freezing the motor\pinion and then taking a blow torch to the pinion. Good luck with that!

Save yourself the trouble, 40 bucks and you ready to go.

OUCH, that sucks big time. I bought a LOSI starter motor without pinion. Ive emailed thunder tiger to ask them what the instructions say for installing the pinion on their motor as its seperate in the pics!

I've heard that you can freeze you motor and heat your pinion to get the gear on. Bit hard with a nylon pinion though. I basically just bashed one on.
