Let me put it this way. There are alot of different ways to select a ride.
You can go buy all the hype and just get the newest thing you can find.

You can go buy parts availability. If you race at a local track and there is a hobby shop you may want a ride that they carry parts for so on race day you can get replacements.

You can find peeps to let you test drive. This is the best way if it is an option. There may be one that suits your driving style better. For me the Xray suits my style better than a Losi.

I have also picked a ride just because I liked the way it looked(Sex Appeal)
Any major manufacture will be good enough to compete.

I am wondering how you ended up with a $500 engine and no clue which buggy it was going in

Screw It

Team Losi 2.0 Kit would be my first choice.

I hear The Car - JQ is pretty good too.

Agree about spending $500 on a OS motor! Im running Alpha motors at $210 each!

Sssshhhhhh dont tell no one but its just as fast as the $500 motor! And remember the back/front straight is NOT where you gain or lose time its the technical driving on the infield that matters the most

Ok so ive been told the OS is easier to tune

But like many others have said just go to your local track find what your local Pro's are running find a Pro that is willing to help. Hint the get paid to help you :-) And run what feels good.
