If Chess, Billard and Poker are considered a sport, then yes. If that is the case, then Jerking off should be a sport as well.

in baseball the fielders react to a baseball being put into the field of play individually then relying on your teammates to relay, cut, catch, or direct traffic for the play.they also rely on a coach for strategy and information. thay also play in a stadium with defined borders, and an outlined set of rules and guidelines. the best athletes in the world train year round, and hone their craft and skill. most people in baseball who are trying to continue playing get weeded out due to the inclined speed of the game. only the best get to move on with their careers.

so is baseball a sport? are baseball players athletes? look at the similarities between rc drives and baseball players.

listen before someone gets pissed off i am intentionally trying to stir the pot so i can get a response.

If you can chain smoke cigs all day long and still perform your activity to the highest level, then you are not an athlete.

Nahh I got it. I think you don't know what you're talking about. and I stand by my statement.

I would consider RC drivers mental athletes. If you ever watched Adam Drake, Jeremy Kortz, etc race they get in a zone. It's amazing to see the pro level drivers drive in person.

Well in that case you are completely missing the point I was making, or I failed to get it across. I surely didn't try to give the impression that boxers didn't move much.

This is somewhat of a grey area in terms of interpretation. Any definition you take for "athlete", "sport" and "competition" will typically run together with the meanings of skill. All of those terms are using skill to define them but in different ways. R/C drivers need skill in terms of hand/eye coordination and so do athletes. Referring to someone as having "natural athletic ability" usually refers to them having good hand/eye coordination (easily catches ball) OR being in naturally good shape/easily gets into shape (can outrun everyone anytime, anywhere).

Being an "athlete" requires both physical ability and coordination. Operators (r/c car drivers) do not require physical ability but do require coordination.

On a side note I think we should make golf a true "athlete's" game. Quickest to finish 18 holes wins. Hit ball, run, hit ball, run.... Not much different than the classic biathlon.

Like the consensus here, most on the driver stand are far from athletes, Unless they play offensive linemen.

I'm already really good at that. Boy I hope they make this an Olympic sport because I have lots of practice chasing my golf balls into the woods, under bushes and into the fairway next door.
