I run mine on a 3500mah 4s pack. Plenty of power and I have never had any issue with the battery at all.

The tip on setting it up without the engine in is great. On thing I have found is it is hard to get the screws that position the posts tight enough to keep them in place. You may want to mark the post locations with a sharpie once you are happy with their locations. That way you can quickly see if they have moved and will know where to put them if it has.
