Unhappy off road car click

when I push my nitro sidewinder remote control car bakwards it makes a saught of grinding noise and when the car is going it is a bit harder for the engine to move the car it makes a ginding noise. Before the base was bent so we bent it out staight but it still makes the noise.

First thought would be transmision is going out, second would be check the clutch bell and spur gear see if there stripping.

Hmmm, if its what i think it is you might need to take it to your local hobby shop because i dont know that cars tranny.

The clutch bell is the smaller gear on the engine, that has a bell like shape covering the clutch shoes that grab the bell when the engine is accelerated.

The spur gear is the larger gear that the clutch gear grabs onto and spins it.

So if possible look and the engine and follow it till you see the gear then try and rotate the gear and see if there is any "visual grinding" not the sound but see if there is any teeth missing from the gear etc. If that is good then-

(check the gear box) Grab both back tires and rotate them in opposite directions and see if there is still grinding. Then rotate both tires in the same direction and see if there is grinding, then report back

If your saying its not the engine because you removed it then check each diff by stopping the drive shaft from turning and then spin the tires on each end of the car to see if they sound terrible.
