The way I see it is that there are a couple top drivers right now that have distanced themselves from the pack and it just so happens that they aren't losi drivers. Guys like Maifield, Tebo, King seem to have gotten a bit faster lately. It won't be long till the losi guys get themselves back into the mix(as far as winning races... They're still crazy fast and placing well).

As for the car, I don't think anyone can knock it. They are still winning a ton of races at the levels that matter which are Open/Intermediate class drivers. The Pro's could be fast with a brick on wheels. The more average drivers are what you really want to look at. IMO the losi cars are still very much among the elite.
Looks like some of the pros are having trouble with the bricks they are racing right now and some are doing well after leaving the bricks they were racing behind. Theres alot of good vehicles on the market and Losi is still one of them.

smolnik and hickerson left cen and went to agama, and they are coming on strong. Back in the day, I ran the same setup with the matrix tr that andrew did, even had the radical 628. It was an awsome truck when I first got it, and I did really well. Then I started seeing the 8t, and the people I used to beat got faster and faster while I started to fall behind. No matter what upgrades I did to cut weight, it still became a struggle. Finally gave in and got the 8t, and I was right back in the mix again.

now I am getting old with 3 kids and a wife. I don't have the money to drop like I used to. I buy what works and have fun. I have driven every major brand of rc out there as I used to work part time doing repair work at a hobby shop. Our little toys have come a long way in the past few years, and losi was a big factor in starting it.

I run Losi myself, what sells me on any truck or buggy is durability. I have seen a ton of AE and HB's Go down during a long main. So I give tons of respect and credit to those trucks and Drivers who can make a 45 min main with all of the pressure of the race and other drivers and still not break anything. But go Losi!!

Just a couple cents here.. I didn't read anything in the first post saying " 8t isn't winning" I read it as they as a team have good drivers and aren't winning. And that's true though. Their drivers just aren't always able to run top 3 pace. And if they are then honestly if you look it prolly cause someone else had a crappy main. No before anyone says it " I " don't have to be as fast as them to say this.. I've read it 50 times on here. When you and your buddies are watching the game and one says " so n so sucks, he can't catch for $hit" do you throw a fit and tell them how they couldn't do half as good like you do here? They are pros in a position to be judged buy fans.. comparing them to the guys who whoop them ... with as this forum always says such outdated chassis..lol

The losi is still a good car but there tires are not allways great and most of there drivers have to use losi tires as its horizon who own losi, in europe some guys like yannick are still winning but he is using pro circuit, mattias was top 3 at the euros on aka? although now at JQ! just my 2cents worth, as i run there car and tires last season!

I don't think its a chassis issue. Tires maybe , but I thought they were supposed to be pretty nice tires. Its just the pace and style has stepped up. Maybe they are comfortable with their job position and the drive is slightly dropped? From what I see with drake ,its not about his winning. He seems like a super helpful guy and I know shows at races early to help people and talk and He's showed the speed to earn respect so people listen... to me, that sells more kits than who's winning.

What I've noticed in the last year is TLR tires being great for practice and qualifiers, but can't hold up for a full main of 45-60 minutes.
