Questions?? Driveshaft pins replacement tool?

Ok so a budy has one he made, but I was wondering if anyone knew of a tool to change the pins in the driveshafts? Or if anyone knew of a easy way to do it?

Thanks for any help I can get on this.

Hudy makes a tool for this or you could buy a chain breaker... I ordered a custom one from someone in europe for ~$50 (I dont believe he makes them any more)

That said make sure you heat up the dogbone before you try to press out the pin or it might crack and then you are gonna have to buy a whole new dogbone... (I have cracked like 3 losi dog bones so far and succesfully replaced ~6 pins)

One question is it worth replacing the pin or just buying the new dog bone/shaft? I just buy new as needed.

The way I see it the tool has already paid for itself because the pins are ~$5 for 10 of them and I have repaired 6 shafts so far (do the math at ~$40 each)

Hudy is the way to go period.

Knock on wood i have never broke a shaft with the hudy tool and have successfully replaced every pin that I have ever tried with no problems.

Where can you buy Team Titan stuff from? I was only able to find this on rc mushroom and I have had bad experiences with them. Thanks.

Or you can buy this one from me...

My boss and I are avid racers (hence check my other posts... we make all kinds of stuff) and we made a few almost identical to the Hudy one. Works the same way, all hardened parts, etc.

$65 shipped

BTW~ We have 5 of these I believe if anyone else is interested

I use a Bone Saver and it has saved a lot when the actual CVD is still good and just the pin needs to be replaced.

What I use:

Replaced over a dozen drive pins with no broken dog bones.

Not the most elegant way to do it. But it works.

The guy from Bonesaver said that the old one was discontinued but a new one is in the works, but no ETA on it. Hmm, I guess I'll have to find something else for now.
Maybe I'll look into what Chedda Bob has.
