Do you have a link to which tool you bought? There are so many listed on Ebay. Thanks!

Hi I buy my pins from mcmaster carr hardened pins are like $7.00 for 50 of them and use a small press. I drilled a hole in some aluminum block to hold shaft and the old pin to fall out. super simple and cheap never broke anything.

I would keep an eye on the out drives if you buy hardened pins.

I like the x-ray design better where, the pins are softer than the out drives.I like the pins to wear & not the out drives. $5 for 10 pins is a lot cheaper than $25 per out drive. I have been able to go 20 gal between out drive replacement when pins are replaced as soon as they show wear.

I can only recomend staying with factory parts simply from experience but x-ray says their pins are hardened, to what hardness I dont know but I do know that there is alot of incriments on a rockwell hardness tester so the word hardened doesnt really mean a lot unless you know the actuall #s your using.

Just something to keep in mind.

My boss and I are avid racers (hence check my other posts... we make all kinds of stuff) and we made a few almost identical to the Hudy one. Works the same way, all hardened parts, etc.

$65 shipped

BTW~ We have 5 of these I believe if anyone else is interested
Wow, this looks exactly like the Hudy one I have, but at a much cheaper price!

Paint it black and people with think it's the hudy!

Guys, Amainhobbies looks to be out of stock with the IDRC Bonsavers, but you can get them @ kingheadz.com.

Here is a direct link: http://www.kingheads.com/product_inf...ba31de57f178e1

The IDRC Bonesaver is a great product, and it's a very small tool to keep in your toolbox.

Also, Mugen has two part numbers for replacement pins. MUGC0270(3x12.8mm) & MUGC0271(3x13.8mm).

I use the MUGC0271 pins on all of my Losi driveshafts.
