Honestly, monster trucks are becoming obsolete in general. From what I've seen, a Truggy can do anything a monster truck and more. They're even more capable bashers while still maintaining insane durability. Plus, the quality is better because a lot of the time you actually build the kit as opposed to a RTR.

oh, i know i dont know if you ever been to hobby hut but theres some like ed cappel and a couple others that show up to have a race with them for the past two years .
but, yea i see a lot of breaking on the monster trucks like the revo compared to the truggys i know how tough truggys are for racing and bashing .
but if i would bash a truggy i would get a non racing truggy.

Here is a nice Truggy. I am thinking of getting one myself to run was a back up for my RC8T.

If a truggy weighed 13-15 pounds like current monster trucks would it still be as reliable as a 7-8 lb truggy?
You have to remember Monster trucks are around 6-9 lbs heavier. I think my MGt was/is around 14.5 with moabs and alum shocks and xtm 457. a little more when I had duel tanks, duel 94359z steering servos and reverse.

There is no way I would bash my RC8T FT like a monter truck. I like mud, small creeks that would be in the carb of a truggy, snow, rain, mud, rocks that are if standing next to a truggy would be inches over the side of the flat chassis.
besides big long rock gouges in the bottom of a truggy chassis is just so damn nasty and ugly, makes me cringe.
Now if I had that TTR st1 I would bash it but only do light bashing up and down my driveway and on the dirt road I live on. It would not go through the ditch(maybe a little) or mud(up past the chassis plate), water(up past the chassis plate). It would be my Light duty basher

Truggy easier to drive, but more wear on parts. Both are a blast and hope you have fun choosing and racing!
