Default Bought a new ride...Fresh start

Well i just sold my revo w/tekno conversion and all the electronics. I had many cars before that St-rr, St-1, 777, about 23 but i'll stop lol. I decided I want to move back to nitro because I miss the sound and want to learn how to tune agian but, this time I wanted to buy the "good" stuff, and not cheap out So I found the Tamiyia TRF801XT So guess what.....I ordered it. Bought it brand new for $199.00 It was either that or the D8t but couldn't pass the price of the Tamiyia. PLus my dad has a D8. WE might be racing depending on what happens with USAIR layoff. WE can still have fun if we dont though But anyways, here is my setup....some of the stuff I still have to order.
Tamiyia 801XT
Picco .21 Boost w/ pipe
Hitec 985mg
Jr 250z
lpr tires/wheels
*tilted conversion maybe

well, i can tell you the nova .21 as a 3 port is enough torque for a truggy i havent ran one on a truggy because a guy i race with said il burn it up on a truggy but i think hes wrong though lol.

they do lack some top end just add a higher tooth clutchbell and its enough top end.

but its one of the easiest itatian engines to tune for sure.

That is the engine I am running in my buggy. It does have less power then most high priced mills but it is more manageable and has actually made me more consistent. Between clutch bell, clutch tuning and using the right pipe you should be able to get the motor to work well in most conditions. It was quite slow until the pinch finally released. Now all is good.

I've run a modded BF21 in truggy. It is now a paperweight- nothing wrong with it, is just isn't anywhere near enough power for a truggy. I'm sure the stock one is even less power. And the truck you selected is one of the heavier ones... even more reason to have more power.

BUT... don't get crazy and put a .28 in there, you don't need it, and runtimes are much shorter.

I currently run an Alpha Plus S852. If you are on a budget I'd get either that or the Werks B5. Werks and Alpha both have "recommended" pipes. What I run is in my sig, works fine.
