I will be at Motorama and I'm looking hard at the R/C Pro race in Rome this year so maybe we can meet at one of those? Tell Kyle I said Hi and I hope you have a great year!
Great article Ryan! Happy Birthday and congrats on all the new stuff happening in your life. You deserve it.

Happy to hear you will be at Motorama. Should be a sweet event this year! Can't wait to see you wheel that Durango in person.

26!

I thought you were older than that? No wonder you can turn faster, pull the trigger faster, crash less, faster lap times, more consistent, make National A mains, win big races, 10 year contracts, tune a motor better, see the track better, marshall better, do back flips and still turn faster lap times than me, get away with a pink headed motor, 11 acres with 2 tracks, stay up for a 18 hour race day and still have the energy to pit for people, work on their cars, extra marshal duty,............................................. .................................................. ................... Happy B-Day!

lol!

I was curious of what they make.. its not like im looking for personal information... its just like we know how much a cop ,welder, plumber ect makes...

it sounds like alot of work but for the right person it could be alot of fun travling around the world.. not for the guy with kids at home id say.

"I'm guessing almost enough to pay the bills. LOL"

Hey, thats how much I make. LOL

I think sponsorships have gotten out of control. I dont know how many threads Ive read or people Ive talked to who's goal it was to get sponsored. Its not all its cracked up to be in the first place and its hurting hobby shops.

I was sponsored the last 2 years and rather then feeling like part of a team I felt more like a customer under contract. I was not given any special help or parts to test out. In fact sometimes it was quicker and easier for me to order new parts from online hobby shops. Granted I was saving a little money but really only a little money. I found better prices on ebay and when online shops had big sales. Anyway I hope that more people read Ryans post and realize having a hobby is a lot more fun when its a hobby.

I think they all make more quarterly than I do yearly, even that 14 year old who just got a sponsorship.

As far as salaries go... this can go several different ways.

As you can see with most ALL factory 8th scale pilots, most don't have a "package" deal. There's car, tires, fuel, engines, radio gear, etc. Sometimes, each individual company is part of that monthly salary that these guys get.

There's also the demographic as well. Where they're located also dictates a negotiating salary. If I had to guess, and this will be really close, that most paid guys don't make more than 40k a year as a base. It's all incentive based. You do well, you make more money... simple as that.

Don't mean to use you as an example but this is what I mean about not knowing the facts and making comments!
I am OK with being an example but I totally meant this sincerely as a "good for you!"
