Default diff fluid change

hello im new 1/8th and im changing my diff fluid in my rc8t for the first time am i suppose to replace the gaskets? they didnt leak before but i didnt know if its common to change them?

You do not have to replace gasket unless it rips when removed, just make sure surface area is clean and cover it lightly in fluid when reassembling.

No, I've been running the same diff gaskets for 5months now. I replace them when they break.

I have found in the past it is not always the gaskets that will leak, I too have been running the same gaskets for a while now with no issue, however, inspect the rubber "o"rings, the tiniest of splits can cause the diffs to leak.

As long as the gasket isn't damaged it will be fine. Gaskets are cheap, so if there is any doubt they are not in good shape change them put. Also check to make sure the rubber O-rungs are in good shape and not swollen. After awhile they can swell and make diff rebuilding a pain.
