Powermate Air Compressors
 

Thinking about picking this one up. Anyone have any reviews or experiences with this brand.

Will not be using it for more than cleaning and blowing off the buggys. Getting tired of the 5 gallon one that I have now. Just want to make sure the specs are ok.

I've been using one for almost 9 months with no problems. With a fine tipped air nozzle, tank holds enough air to completely blow off my 1/8th buggy.

Fits easily on the floorboard of a compact car.

Goes on sale every now and then for $49.00

Is it fairly quiet, unless its really noisy pretty cool deal.

Not bad really. Possibly the quietest one I've heard at the track.

I am looking for a large capacity. The 5 gallon one that I have now is not cutting it. The one I am looking at is 26 gallon.

Yeh I'm just the opposite, have a large capacity one in the shop, I'm looking for one small enough to lug to the track.

For a small air compressor it's hard to beat this little one from husky. It's light, curan and it has wheels. The tank is small but it fills quickly. The other nice thing about it is that it dosent take many amps to start the compressor. Sometimes power is limited and when other compressors are trippingthe power mine will run all day long. I got it for christmas 2 yrs ago and still running. Check it out.

Hey dish , i don't have that brand but i do have a husky that looks almost the same . It works really good , i have even used it to run air tools and a sprayer when working on our real cars . I have it in my enclosed trailer , it is a little noisy but all compressors that size are .

I have a powermate 8gal compressor, it is okay. A bit noisey and slow to fill. but it gets the job done at the track and in the shop. still has enough pressure even when filling to blow whatever off the cars and trucks.

Hmm debating on the powermate or the husky. I looked at the husky ones at home depot and they had 4 of them on clearance from returns.

Not a good sign when that many have been returned.

Any other suggestions on an affordable large tank compressor.

I have a Campbel Hausfeld compressor that has been around for 8 years with almost no issues. The only item I replaced was the quick connect on the outlet because it failed at some point. It is pretty much in the middle as far as noise level.

If I ever feel the need to take air with me to a track, I'll bring my nitrogen tank. I bought it when I was racing shifter karts and with my typical use of filling tires and airbrush painting lasted over a year on a fill. It was 19.70 to refill it and I'm pretty sure it will last another year or so. I believe the tank and regulator was around $200 when I bought it.

Those Hausfeld compressors are pretty steep. I dont want one to take to the track at all. I have a 5 gallon one and it takes forever to fill. I am looking for one to stay in the garage and noise is not that big of deal for me.

With my 5 gallon craftsman I cant even blow off one car I have to wait for it to refill 3 times to get it good.

which compressors are quiet?! I want a quiet one... I'm ready to trade in this rattle bomb I have for something smooth. :)

If you really want to keep the noise down try a CO2 set-up. Tank re-fills around 12 bucks, last me 2 months and no noise. Plus the looks are priceless.
