eh ok. I'm turning this into Nitro vs. Electric pissing match, please disregard.

But they Ofna Picco Buggy is a definite bargain. The ofna .21 in it is actually Roar legal and is what most of the racers use.

ya as soon as you said something about electric I saw this coming. If this guy is wanting nitro I think he should listen to the real true racers on here that run nitro. I know for a fact that the ofna picco motor is very hard to to turn and to keep tuned and he would end up just given up on nitro and we would just loose another racer in this hobby

Yeh I guess we don't need a nitro vs electric thread. I stand by my sugestion on the losi 8 2.0rtr even though its quite a bit more up front it will save you $$ in the long run compared to a $300 kit.

Are you guys forgetting that the OP just wanted to run around on a backyard track to get the feel of RC? Asking him to roll the dice on a $600 - $700 Losi is taking a big chance considering that he seems to have no RC experience. The OFNA is solid and will last for years.

Yes I understand that its a lot of money and may be more than he wants or needs but not to many of us stop at our first R/C. These are just options that he should consider, and he would already be ahead of the game if he continues on. If not he still has a bad azz buggy. If he chooses another route thats ok as long as he enjoys himself, ultimatly it his decision, do some reserch and have fun.
