Personally I think you should save yourself almost $200. I lost all interest in the Durango when they came out claiming it was fast enough to win the worlds...

Probably to early to get a decent answer....
Until the average Joe's get to run both and give their feedback. We need at least a few weeks to see how fast they drive, and what problems arise.

However; I ordered THE car... because I am impatient

Both are good in their own right...both "could" have won the worlds, but they didn't. None of the "new" buggy's even made the A-main but 1 . With that being said....pick a car out there and they all have good and bad points. Its the "DRIVER" that makes all the difference.

A lot of people say this, and it is a little true. But a car can very much fit some drivers better than others.

I can give a little example from myself. I race a Xray T2'009 touring-car and I switched to a Exotek chassis. I didn't max out the standard chassis, but the new chassis did fit better to me, and I did get faster.

Durango for the nice looking.
JQ for supporting a great guy.

I would pick JQ, but both cars are great!

I predict that the JQ car will be the fastest car on the track for 2011.

Not that I get anything either way, but looking at both cars, I like the JQ from a performance engineering standpoint.

On the other hand, Team Durango appears to have gone after the Xray market as a very strong challenger.

I'm wondering the same thing right now! I'm between the durango, JQ, Serpent or Agama. Not to hijack the OP's thread, but how do you guys think the agama and serpent would fit into this mix? Coming from a Losi 8ight 2.0...

almost only counts in two things........horse shoes and hand grenades

I would say go with either the Serpent or the JQ because they both had real racers design them, no only that some of the best racers in the industry so they have a little better idea of what works on the track than what looks like a shelf queen.....speaking of the new cars....imo

Yup...I have a MP9 on the way .....nothing like a 1000 dollar buggy!! . Always fun to start crap on threads like this. They evolve to nothing....a buggy is still only as good as setup and driver.
