Tamiya plugs arnt made to handle the voltage of a 4s or even a 3s lipo and will melt. I cut out the old wires and just rewired the battery connection from the box to a new deans plug. No wiring job looks worse than adapters

They can handle 220 volt if you wanted they can only handle around 30 amps of current though. On a starter box you will never pull more than 10 amps absolute max. The connector won't melt and wobt even get warm actually. Just think 2 fully charged 7.2v stick pack batteries have the same voltage as a 4s lipo. Wiring and connectors is all about amp. In most cases voltage really doesn't matter whatsoever. So unless your running two 1/8 scale mamba monster motors in your box and a 6s battery trying to start a full size car don't worry about what connector you use. Keep it nice and neat and keep the stock wiring cause if you ever try to sell it that will be a big plus to buyers for sure.
