ROAR can kiss my ass. If the rest of you want to play their reindeer games then by all means go for it.

I'm sorry i'm not visiting some 3rd world country to race my toy vehicles. Kudos to those who do and would, but i'm not risking my life over toys.

How can anybody be so damn shortsighted as to overlook the requirement in the ROAR rules that IF YOU CHOOSE to participate in the opening ceremonies you need to be in the correct attire.

Somebody please point out to me why there would be any logical reason for not following this requirement. If you don't want to wear the shirt simply don't show up for the opening ceremonies or stay on the sidelines.

Lets see, you are there representing ROAR and your country, what's wrong with wearing the shirt?

Ed M.

After rereading my post it may seem to be directed at the drivers in question, IT IS NOT. Simply directed at the bashers.

BTW, the team manager gave a detailed account of how it happened and why it was decided to allow the drivers in the picture. I feel he made a good decision.

Some of you guys need to relax, if you don't like how ROAR is being run, why not contest in the next Presidential election?

I for one think the current ROAR President Steve Pond is a great guy and he knows what he is doing.

I am glad that some of you guys don't join any races or bodies because of rules and regulations. I really hate to see some guy in a gorilla suit or worst of all, naked running around the track...

For ROAR, official t-shirt is mandatory, luckily for some, underwear is still optional or it will create another fiasco...

That's no joke Ron, I'm glad you guys made it back. There were threats by AlQuaida on the exact hotel and compound where you guys were at, which probably explains the security. Does this fall into the more b@lls than brains category? lol maybe

Kudos to ROAR for enforcing the attire and conduct rules. If you are fortunate enough to be on the team and actually attend the race to represent our country, do it the right way, you know? pretty simple... I mean the next thing you know guys will be wearing pink underwear out there...

Could be but I actually ended up having good time. Flew in by my self so I was a little scared about getting kidnapped because of all of the hype and stuff that was going on at that time. The race organizers had some little Indonesian guy meet me at the gate to escort me through everything. It was kinda funny he walked me up to the customs line, said give me $20, took my passport and pointed me towards the line that said "diplomats only!". He then said in a serious voice whatever you do, don't stop just keep on walking!!! I look at the line just to read the sign again just in case I'm hallucinating after the 20+ hours of flying (you can relate to that) then look back to ask him a question and he is about 10 feet away walking through a door with my passport lol. So now I'm in Indonesia at the airport without a passport and don't even know where I'm staying at lol. So I put on a brave face, marched down the aisle marked "diplomats only!" that had 2 or 3 Indonesian military guys in camo that looked like commando's with M16's standing next to. They stared at me, so I just stared them right back in the eyes and kept on walking lol. It was the craziest thing that ever happened in my life. I'm not even going to get into me trying to find the guy with my passport for the next half hour, people trying to hawk me Rolex's at the airport or the crazy ars ride to the hotel + all of the other stuff lol. Definitely one of the most memorable trips that I have taken in my life and probably not something that I would do now that I'm a bit older (and wiser ;-).

Congrats again on the win with Cody in Thailand! I thought that you guys were in Japan for the Kyosho Masters or did you make it back already?

+1 on the pink underwear comment lol, did anyone ever get him to put some pants on over those?

I have a stupid question. Why are the world's held in precarious locations? How is the location determined and why aren't things like peoples safety taken into consideration? Where will the next one be held? Somalia, North Korea, Aphganistan, Newark, lol!

Yes that was in bankok, yes everyone landed in bankok, yes 2 hours from the track.

If you are going to say that Indonesia was too dangerous to go to, at least be consistent. Timing-wise, Thailand was more dangerous than Indonesia.

What is this ROAR thing anyways?

Oh yea, that racing sanctioning body that has had ZERO activity in my region (Region 7) for the last 10 years.

Guess that since the cab-forward controversy is over, someone needs to flex their muscles to justify their existance.

Without ROAR there is no R/C racing in the US.
