I was told that CEN factories make allot of the hop up parts for all the different companies so there cash flow is just fine, but as a top contender on the racing circuit they may be done. Of course that's just my opinion.
"jaz",

WELL SPOKEN.

* the shock-caps are plastic(weak point).

* motor mounts (old school, non competitive).

theres more but i wont look at it long enough.

by the way: i was speaking from a competitve standpoint, ive also handled their truggys and owned (2) of their bugggys, so im not exactly coming outta left field.
Ok im done here, like I said CEN make there buggy and truggy to meet a certain price point like OFNA. They were good starters, a lot people started out with them and moved on, just like most do with OFNA.

Even the losi 8t 2.0 has plastic shock caps

Straight down the tubes. Where CEN has been going for years. There stuff is far from competitive. Never was competitive and certainly isn't now. Even their "new" cars are ancient technology compared to any competition 1/8 scale chassis.

i was given a C-1 FTE buggy back when i sold everything at the end of last year (was going get out of racing) and i race the buggy with an old STS engine that i got for 50 bucks and did very well with the buggy, always got top 5 easy with it in pro buggy. they arent that bad, just had ofna 16mm shocks on it... they arent there with the other companies for sure but they arent terrible. they are pretty dang tough and in the right hands they are capable of winning (maybe not at the adam drake level) but club races and some little bigger events, yes. their new stuff, however, looks worse than the C-1 IMO.... i think they could come back if they would work on a new FTE or kit buggy/truggy. their old FTE truggy sucked and needed TONS of upgrades but the buggy wasnt terrible. maybe they dropped the drivers or something to have more money to design a new buggy and truggy maybe.

Buggy wasn't up to par either.. Had to spend a fortune on other manufacturers parts to make it decent. Dont think this is a fact, look at and read any of the ex-team drivers post and examine pics of there rides. Never even close to factory. I know some try new things to try to better vehicles, but they were way beyond this. Ran the chassis for 2 years, u got NOWHERE if u didn't at least start with kyosho diffs..

I have been a big fan of CEN Racing products for a few years. I had the Matrix C-1 and I still have my Matrix Arena TR. I sold quite a few CEN vehicles in 2 years and now have to keep up the parts support until I can get all of my customers switched to my new brand. I found the kits to be good solid cars, but a company doesn't make it with good cars alone. They need good customer service and parts service. These are things that weren't that great at CEN and now seem to be worse.
It's disappointing to see, but that's the nature of the industry. With so many Good brands out there with good service, you have to be aggressive to survive.
