If I remember right it would have to do with them mounting the shocks in the arms without risers. I know that on my RC8b that the sway bars are pretty close to the shock springs to begin with so they probably needed more clearance with the new arms. Bent up some new wire and add a ball stud. Mounting them so close to inner hinge pin is also going give the bars less leverage on the arms so expect the bars thickness to increase to gain that back.

Been running that for a while a few of them . A certain UK racer won in France not so long back with that similar set-up (with out these new towers and with the std risers) It doesn't bind a full compression of the suspension.........
