out of the cars i have owned the mp9 was most free out of all, but the hotbodies d8 and losi 2.0 were pretty close as well, serpent is almost as free as d8 and losi, the mugen and xray roll similar to the rc8b, i have owned all of the kits i am referencing

The MP9 does have a smooth drivetrain. I think its brakes are the reason. They use real brake pads and steel rotors. Ive thought about trying to rig my RC8 up to use them but when I priced out the parts required I decided it wasnt worth the cost.

I run the mp9e, no brakes, I think the mp9 is by far the smoothest becouse of the good bearing and the very light transmission.

Losi driveline is SUPER free. Very efficient for sure!

Try giving the new GS CLX a look. It has some of the lightest diffs and driveline components out there and the whole system is super smooth. I had mine going with a hobby 9 this past weekend (the motor only has break in and tons of metal pinch left) and was already getting 10 minute practice runs before I was bringing it in for refuel.

I did get better run time with THE Car than my Losi. I think it is because the JQ Car is 200 grams lighter (3400 Losi, 3200 JQ), has lightweight aluminum center dogbones, larger bearings, and the lightest diffs of the market. Joseph did a writeup on this in Part 7 of The release story if you want to read up on it more.

I have tried the Losi 2.0 and I wasent a huge fan but I guess if you had the patience and the time to set the car up it would be good. The D8 is a fantastic car, it jumps well, is quite forgiving due to the weight it can take really roughed up tracks, its easy to setup, and if you include the price point it cant be ignored. The Mugen is an excellent car I just found its very forgiving and is an excellent car. THE car sounds like its going to be a major contender but no one truly know till it comes out and people are using it. I cannot give any answers on the DNX as I havent driven one nor have I even heard much about it, but that doesnt mean its going to be horrible either. The best thing to do is look around your track.. whos driving what? What does your local hobby shops have in stock or are able to order? What you have to look at is parts support as well as track help with whatever car you are looking at.

the mp9 has the smoothest driveline, but the mugen mbx6 comes in a close second. only issue with mugen is that the stock bearings get gritty real quick.

I would hold out for the DNX408. Either that or the Serpent with the updated radio tray. I change my mind daily lol. BUt seem to be leaning more towards the Durango as more time goes by.

i had 2 gallons on my mbx6 and decided to replace all the bearings. left rear inner and inner clutch bearing were gritty. all the others felt great and have been relegated to the backup bearing drawer. i spent a little bit of xtra time setting up my diffs and installed brake caliper springs and driveline feels very free. the mugen bearings did very well for me.

All the new gen car's have butter smooth drivetrains, which one feels the best on any given day depends on the maintenance of said car and or how long its been since last maintenance....Sorry STUBY.....there is no "free est"
