I have no RC sponcers. But when i raced MX i had 4 of them. And i was not winning alot of races. Mainly around 5 or 6th. But one day a spark lit and i figured i would send a resume in to a company. And sure as heck they signed me for 25%off parts. this was in 07. so in 08 i tried two more places same deal. At the track i helped ppl out and when they needed stuff i told them to go to my sponcer and say danny sent ya. Well the off sesion of 08 my sponcers contacted me. Said they were happy with what i was doing. one when to 75% off parts and the other gave me free full kustom graphics. All while not improving my results but by helping the company that sponcers you.

So put together a resume and send it off. The worste they will say is no. And if they do say yes act like you are an empoyee to that company, help spred the word of them and send bussiness to them. but you cant do those two things unless you are nice at the track and help ppl out. so give it a shot. you will be saprized.

I've been running A-main all season and absolutely love it. It brought my temps down and my power way up. My LHS carries it and I switched from Byron's to it. Tried Odonnell once and went right back to A-main. Great fuel, I'm sold on it for the foreseeable future. I also converted a couple buddies and a couple new guys at my local track to it. I even loaned one of the new guys money to buy some cause he was out of fuel for the main.

If you want to be sponsored, WIN RACES. A lot of guys look at sponsorship as the goal, but it's not, it's part of the journey. After you get sponsors it's just the beginning. Enjoy everything while you are not sponsored, run what you want, and win races. Once you get sponsored, the real work begins.

This falls into the "watch out what you ask for" category.

What better way than to have a great salesperson/spokesman who believes so much in the product that he/she spreads the word every chance they get. Now, you wont get a chassis sponsorship just by posting all over RC forums that Mugen Rules and everyone should buy one, but the smaller companies who are trying to make a name for themselves may take note that you are helping increase their sales. by the way, my driving still sucks and I dont win anything, but I continue to tell people how great Answer-RC products are and that Clockworks engines are hands down monsters! My sponsors get what they want because I help increase sales and I get my sponsorship discounts..The point I am trying to make is that there is a bit more to it than winning, but winning comes first when it comes to Chassis sponsorships
There are exceptions for everything......but I've been racing a long time...and generally it's win on Sunday to sell on Monday, from F1 and top-fuel to 1/24th scale RC. My advice would be to have fun and enjoy.

I as well have always been really intrigued about the whole sponsorship part of racing. All the stuff written has been really useful, thank you! I may have to write myself up a resume and see what I can accomplish. I didn't think I was worthy if I haven't won any big races. I'm in the military and it's hard for me to travel to big races. But I'm very loyal to the products I run, so maybe I still have a shot

the best way to get sponsors is to not make a topic on how to do it
