everyone wants stuff for Free Ninety Nine these days

debo179 10-18-2010 07:46 PM

half price of new and go down half price of that

melonpeel 10-18-2010 07:59 PM

Search ebay for auctions with similar items and see what they ended at. Or post a forsale ad with "Best Offer" instead of price and see what peeps are willing to pay. There's no blue book for used rc stuff so it's difficult at times. It's been my experience the stuff is worth more to seller than anyone is willing to pay and feelings get hurt sometimes.. unfortunately.

General rule of thumb is:
1. buggys/truggies about 50% of new cost.
2. Servos..depending upon brand 40% to 60%
3. Used nitro motors..once again brand dependent..
generally I won't even buy a used nitro motor, early on I had bought a used motor..only one or two gallons through it..yea..yesterday maybe (). I'm not saying that about you or your motors but that's how most guys feel about buying a used motor..risky..So on that..it's in the 25% to 50% of what they cost new..an OS motor to me is
in the 35% range.
4. Pipes..50% of new costs..
5. Spare parts..out of the bag 40%..NIB..50%
It stinks that it's not worth more but from what I've seen that's what guys are willing to pay for used..

okay so my next question is is there anyone out there who would buy a complete race ready setup including both cars radio hauler bag the list can go on and on but basically everything i own to go rc racing?

Frank L 10-18-2010 08:43 PM

General rule seems to be about 50% of new.

Ok from what knowledge I have from selling stuff your gonna get probly 375$-410 for the buggy setup at best and for ur truck set up u mite get 500-550$

Your best bet is to sell each car without engines, u won't get much for any engine wether it's 'been takin care of like my own baby' they still won't sell cause we all at 1 point had an engine die at a couple gallons so we won't trust anything but new when it's n engine.

So with that said I bet u can get 410 for truck n 340 for buggy both without engines. It's a tuff world and everyones gonna use that excuse cause honestly it a legit excuse people don't have money these days to risk, forsale thread here is 'try n find someone desperate for money n rob them or be the desperate seller n get robbed'. I for one choose to sell 80% of my stuff to friends who can't lowball me n I usually sell it for what I want that's reasonable however I sold a nib 801x buggy with over 300$ in nip parts for 375 the other day cause I was over looking at it in my garage. Prepare to have ur feelings hurt trying to sell stuff. Most people won't even look at stuff over 200-300$ so u mite not even get bites selling all that stuff. If I had to guess u won't end up selling much unless u really break up the package, it's just the truth. Post lots of pictures that's a biggie

Expect to get less for an older model..say a Losi 1.0..35% of what they cost new.

aussies1129 10-19-2010 06:13 AM

I would say if its a current model and in good condition then you should be getting 50-60% of the new cost older models = less demand = less value say 35% maybe a bit less, as for your stuff it looks current now if its say only a season old and well looked after then no less than 50%, try and sell local if you can, ebay can be a gamble especially if you start at .99c. try here first and try and stay firm with your price if you are confident that the gear is in good condition.
goodluck

The value goes with the trust of the product. RC8 are not worth much anymore, they have 310 upgrades and people are not sure what to buy. I say ebay it. Dont expect much now because it is the end of season for a huge part of the US and the market is getting flooded with used RC equipment.
