I got to see the SC Nitro A-Main at the Short Course National championships this summer and the shorter wheel base of Chad Bradley/Jeremy Kortz definately helped them walk away from the SC8's even with they're smaller motors. In the straight's the SC8's were faster and seemed to handle the bumps better making them look like they would handle better for the average driver in backyard driving situations. It really comes down to weather you like 4 wheel power slides (8th scale) or quicker handling (10th scale) Can't really go wrong either way. I'm 50/50 in my own personal opinion on what would be better. I enjoy my Jammin SCRT-10 and running the SC8e so I'd say get both!
