Good starter bos for RC8 buggy
I just picked up an RC8 with the rotary starter....I would like a good starter box that's not too much $ that would work well. I see some are "universal" fit and some are more specific in nature.
I have a friend that had on old ofna box lying around but it didnt look like we could get it to line up properly. So i am nervous abou the "universal" style
Thanks in advance

What about this one http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...al-Starter-Box
I see everyone say the ofna one, but is this one the same thing, for a few bucks cheaper?

I think I found a new associated box pretty cheap locally $40........It looks like only a single motor vs. some others have duals. But I figure it should line right up with my RC8 without any hassle.
I dont think that a single should be a huge difference?
heck..... the little drill type starter I am using doesnt really have much oomph to it at all, and it works well.

Those pro starts have decent torque in my opinion. The single motor will do the job for the most part. Unless you buy a really tight Nova or RB or something and it won't crank it. It will struggle with some new motors but should turn over a lot of them.

I have a box with dual 550s and it's all I can do to get it to turn over anything. I know the losi RTR boxes have alot of trouble when breaking engines in, and they have a single 775.
If you think you're gonna be in the hobby for awhile, you might as well save yourself the trouble and buy a good starter box. I was going to get a truggy box, but ended up buying the piece of crap I had because it was a good deal. 40$ with a 12v and charger. It's really caused me more trouble then the money I saved was worth.
