Removing gear from Losi 8ight diff.
Well Im replacing my diff seals right now and I've got the rear and center done but I can't get the larger gear out of the case side of the diff! I've been fiddling with it for almost an hour. The other two I used medical tweezers and it just slid out. But this one I've tried everything I can think of. I haven't tried a magnet yet because I can't find my auto reach magnet right now. But everything else I've thought of has failed. Any ideas on how to get this sucker out? Thanks!

Use a pair of needle nose pliers. Your not going to hurt it. Or turn it upside down and tap it on the table letting gravity do the work.

Yeah I usually turn the case upside down for a bit and it will normally fall out after a few minutes or so.Or if Im in a hurry I will grab it with a pair of needle nose like was mentioned before.

Like the others said, turn it upside down, but what i do is i turn it upside down and spin the outdrive and it falls right out!

Thanks for the replies, I believe that this one is jammed in. I pulled on it pretty hard with the pliers. I guess I should start looking in the for sale section for a roller to replace those parts

You can buy the parts off ebay or any hobby shop for cheap. Shouldn't cost you more than $15-20 to buy the needed parts. You could replace the whole diff for about $30.

Turn it upside down and smack it pretty hard on the table. That sometimes gets the tough ones out better than pliers. Worth a shot anyway.;)

Needle Nose and Wiggle it around, It'll come off eventually.

Some of the best tools to have in your pit bag. The one all the way to the left that has the curved point is your friend when trying to get that sun gear out.
It works like a charm. http://s.sears.com/is/image/Sears/00...sm=0.9,0.5,0,0 |
