Default Inferno Neo advice on getting it up for racing

I have $2000 max to spend it's either the Neo or the MP9 and atm I can only afford the Neo. So far I am going to spend about $1200 on it to get high end radio gear, new engine (because I have read that the gx21 and 28 are extremely unreliable). new chassis (kanai 2/3), and aluminium/titanium hop ups.Am I going too far? probably... I know I can get an RC8 or an OFNA for cheaper and do them up for less but as much as I love AE, I love kyosho more. I will write a list of things I am looking on getting, if you have any suggestions against or for any of these items let me know. I have had experience in RC but not Racing, so I'll appreciate all the help I can get. Oh and one more thing I am looking to run Lipo and not sure what will fit in mp7.5 Battery box, I want something quite high in amperage.

Thanks.

Anyway here goes:

Kyosho Inferno Neo RTR
Hitec HS-7940TH servo
Hitec HS-7954SH servo
HI-TEC AGGRESSOR SRX PRO 2.4ghz
2100mah Nosram Lipo Reciever Pack (not sure if this fits)
O.S. MAX-21VZ-B V SPEC
Kanai 3 Chassis
Aluminium Knuckles F and R
titanium tie rods all around

Why would you waste time on the Neo when you could just get a WC777 or the MP9 SE. The MP9 SE is 600.00, you be better off with the 777 or SE. they wont need all the hop-ups the Neo would.

If your gonna do it, do it right trust me I know. I brought a RTR and wish I never did.

Honestly for all out racing - I think your wasting your money.

Kyosho Inferno MP9 Competition $729
You can find OS vspec for $250 if you shop around
hitec servos 7940 $300
A good radio $300

You can get a good setup for 2 grand, why you going for the cheap stuff?

Dont Buy RTR KYOSHO and then upgrade it ... Buy a cheap kit for example D8 it is very cheap and trust me better than your upgrade NEO... I am 100% hardcore kyosho fan but their RTR is trash(not all) ... If you want racing then buy a KIT ...if you want not to racing then the NEO is good...if you want RTR i believe that losi has the best RTR BUGGY!! 2.4 DX3S ,Starter box,SH Based Non Pullstart engine etc ... much better than kyosho's rtr with AM Radio and trash pullstart engine ....

Personally i'd buy the mp9 and dont' worry about any upgrades. Cut corners in other areas if you have to, but nothing is as important as the roller itself when it comes to handling and racing. You'll always regret not buying a better buggy if you skimp there. You can upgrade everything else as you need it, but the main buggy itself is not upgradeable unless you buy a new rig.

Why buy the rtr neo when your not gonna use any of the stuff it comes with?Basically your buying and overpriced roller that is not worth it.I would get the basic mp9 which is an awesome kit and then get the v-spec,servos,tires and rims, and of course the radio and the bumpbox. You will get this all for a little under 2 grand or at 2 grand. You never want rtr cars for racing,we all learned from that a while ago. Please trust us when we say this.just but the mp9,v-spec,hitec 7955tg's,ofna starter box,and m11x or dx3r or dx3s.

If you are newbie or if you are not you dont need super wow things..
Buy a kit (any kit on the market are good for racing) HB,LOSI,KYOSHO MUGEN,AGAMA,JQ etc....
Buy a good under 250$ engine(Werks B5,Precirotate,Alpha ,GO Combos,Novarossi N21BF,Nova 5XLT) But i suggest you a GO COMBO which include also the pipe ...
Servos you can buy Hitec 7954(Same as 7955 but without Titanium gears and also cheaper)
Starter Box,Ofna Blue starter box
and Radio i suggest you a MX3X ,i have a M11 DSSS you dont need it .. MX3X is perfect i prefer it than my M11

I don't think a neo counts as a "super wow" thing

No kidding, you could build any car for that much. In fact you could have the best of everything for less than 2k. I don't consider kyosho to be the best, but many others do. Imo i'd go with a losi (of course), mugen, or agama. If you are really bent on getting something japanese i'd go with mugen.

Default New Neo

I agree. Just cough up the cash and get a standard race roller...

Standard mp9
nova bf, p5, Alpha, Werks or whatever engine that's under 250....
7955 hitec steering
bls 451 futaba throttle

I do think it's not necessary to get a 400 dollar radio.
I like the Airtronics MX-3 series. Flawless design and super reliable recievers...

Don't waste your time with the neo. It is based on an ancient buggy and is actually a highly downgraded version of that ancient buggy. There have been 2 complete new buggies from Kyosho since the 7.5, and that's not even including the many different versions of those respective vehicles. I'm ashamed for kyosho that they even sell a 7.5 based buggy anymore. IMO that's a terrible practice.

If you want a kyosho, fork out the cash for a mp9 kit. If you don't have the cash for a mp9 kit buy another brand, not an ancient kyosho that won't be competitive. Trust me kyosho's RTR's are a FAR cry from their racing kits. Absolutely terrible if you ask me.
