Default New to Nitro RC

I'm a newbie to Nitro RC Cars. I just purchased a Traxxas Nitro Rustler. I was told that it needed a few things. I was told that it needed a glow plug and a starter and battery. I'm not sure what kinds I need. If somebody could point me in the right direction I would greatly appreciate it.

If you bought your Rustler new, this is what you'll need:

plus a charger to charge the battery.

Definitely read the manual, it is extremely thorough.

Good luck!

Also you might want to visit the traxxas forum, there is an entire section for each vehicle with lots of good info from experienced users. This place is more of a racing / all-purpose rc forum. You'll still get answers here, but it's just easier if you read through a few pages of posts over there.

Ok for traxxas its all very easy because they make all there parts. First off being new it will break so off the bat go rpm a arms cheap and tuff same with rpm hubs. Any plastic rpm makes for that car buy it there normally around same price as the stock parts. Also cary spares, and for what you need traxxas makes it all they have there own glow plugs(keep spares they dont last for ever), they make there own fuel(ask the guy what kind he ran, its not really prefered to switch brands in an engine), the wands is only made for traxxas but i would go ignitor and pull start. Also never leave you stuff on and keep it charged to prevent run aways and since your new never start the car then turn you remote on. REMOTE ALWAYS IS TURNED ON FIRST AND TURNED OFF LAST! This will prevent runaways aswell. Prefereable if ur using AA batterys as a reciver pack buy a multi funtion charger and a rechargable reciver pack. Multi function chargers range from 20 to 300 dollars. Make sure as multi fuction it can charge lipo, nimh, nicd etc so if you decide to change in the future your charger can handle what you want to use.
