If it were me, I'd just get a set of MBX6 big bore shocks. You can get 'em fairly cheap on Ebay.

yeah had a look at them , also looked at losi2.0 and the hyper 8.5x shocks and i think the hyper 9 ofna shocks. if i do buy front and rear i think getting the mbx6 ones might be a bit price'y for bashing .

yeah thats true . im not super worry about if the shock i buy dont fit straight away beacuse if they dont fit it will give me a reason to make custom carbon fiber shock towers for it , which im gunna get around to do , but that would hurry me up

You can't really improve on the MBX5r shocks, big bores don't improve performance on cars with such long throw suspensions.

Talking MBX-6 Shocks on the MBX-5

Hi. I tried to get them to fit without mods. Direct fit they are not.

They rub against the shock tower. (Fronts IF I remember correctly)

im guessing ya talking about the SAVY bumpers and bashplates that are on it . kinda turned this buggy into a mugen MT basher with front and rear bumpers and a revo body , this thing gets thrashed as hard as a savy and takes it - have not busted one thing yet . but it also handles wicked , hahah also that motor is a huge power house.

yep very true man , i use it at a lot of BMX tracks cos i dont have any rc tracks near me at all , so it does sum huge jumps , the only thing that i have busted was a throttle servo ( busted the top clean off) cos i did a huge bmx double and came up short nose diving straight into the next jump . the servo plate busted the servo top off lol , i love this buggy.

i got a vid of it sum where il try and find , the vid was on a super wet day , man this .28 just does not hook up lol
