Default thermal expansion collar on the OS speed carby

ok,. i now have the thermal expansion collar of the carby on the OS speed stuck in the crank case and its kinda cracked,.. ive got a spare,. but im struggling to get it out without scoring the outer bore...

im kinda just think i might seal it up with goo,...

whats the trick in getting it out with out scorring the bore on the crank case?

put it in the oven for a bit and it will shrivel up. I wont melt just shrink

sure it would do try it on low first and it might be a good idea to be sure you aren't blowing air at the crank filling

i thought the role of the expansion collar was to expand with heat??

With the engine tore down, I used a propane torch and kinda gave it a good burning. It will come out easy when that hot or let it cool and it then becomes really brittle. Either way, don't be afraid of digging in.
