Default Is there any rtr race ready truggy/ buggy for under $500?

Looking for an answer to this question..... Have two monster trucks (tmaxx 3.3 and dtx 27). I am looking for something different like a buggy or truggy that I would like to be rtr only. You knowledgeable people have any thoughts out there? I was going to get the losi ten t because it looked like a great truggy but I wont bother because I heard of the headaches. I might possibly be thinking about the rc8t truggy. What are your thoughts on that or even the rc8 buggy????? Thanks in advance.

if you find one for that cheap its a good starter but to make it last it will most likely need better servos, engine and radio gear and by the time you get all that u basically paid 500 for a rtr roller which is pointless.

if you want a rtr thats is, pretty much race ready than a eight-t 2.0 is the way to go with the starter box and a nice radio also. but you do have to replace , the steering servo but you can get a good diginal one without spend $120 which i dont pay that much for one.

and go with truggy man, its more funner than buggy you can drive the truggy much harder .

as for the rc8t rtr i dont know, too much about them but if you want to go with the rc8t go with the champ editon with all the upgrades with it its not a rtr though.

8eight-t 2.0 RTR is good... but dont think that you will not need servos right away.. cause you will

yeh that losi 8ight looks like a great truggy but definitely out of my price range. The highest i could go is maybe $600 tops minus $60 off coupon at tower. My only options for what seemed to be racers at tower are the rc8t and the jammin x2.

+1 and you have to get big dollar ones which will put u at almost a 1000 for a rtr, 700 for the rtr then servos for ones that a losi wont eat are 150 easily. and you need 2. By that time i can have my d8, great servos, great engine like a b6 or so and still have money to buy my fuel.

Thats great, thats one experience. I've bought 10-15 used buggys online in the last 10 years and as long as your careful and deal with reputable people your usually fine. I'd rather let someone else take the hit buying new in box and buy it off them used at 50-60% of the cost.

Not to mention if you don't want to spend the money going through and rebuilding things every few weeks your in the wrong hobby

I have a used Xray 808 2009 that I am selling with 2 servos (7940) a king head quick change engine mount an RX battery, M8 radio with spectrum module and the spectrum RX. All you need is engine, pipe and fuel. $300 takes it all. It is in great shape, has lots of spare parts included and I am a very reputable seller

yeah the losi 8ight or 8ight t 2.0's are the best bet for an rtr. You WILL need 2 new digital servo's at 100 to 150 a piece. If you think you'll race alot and want to be competitive i'd just save until you can afford a real race roller and motor/pipe and radio gear separately. I bought the RTR in March and am still trying to get it to race roller quality. I'm hooked on racing tho. Had i'd known i'd like it this much i'd of definitely bought everything separately. Live and learn. If you are making the step from basher to racer you'll spend alot more racing. You will want to keep your car maintained to stay competitive. I'd say if you have NOTHING RC related and want to race competitively get about 2 grand saved and that's just one class. You'll need spare parts, shock oils, diff oils, bearings, tools, dremels, temp gauge, shade tent, pit table, gas, plugs, clutches, blah blah. This hobby will 5 dollar you to death! Racing is a great time and worth it to me.

You need to double that. It's about $1000 min. to get into racing.

Losi RTRs, plus servos, fuel, a few tire options, and a few spares. About a grand.
