Understand, I did do my share of question asking, but I wasn't also asking about sponsorship. The OP doesn't need to be discouraged from the hobby, just keep asking questions on here and especialy at the tracks you race at.

Newuserlosi, when I saw him ask that I thought this was one of the joke threads that pop up everyonce in a while.

Don't do what I did.... I bought my truggy had trouble with it cause I really hadn't taken the time to learn much about them. Then took it out in my own thread. (My brand) Looking back.... definitely not the best way to secure a sponsor. It was stupid stuff too like not loctiteing or checking my clutch. But to be honest I just didn't know any better at the time. I spent a lot of time, after that, just reading every thread I had time to. Most of the questions asked, after you've been on here a couple months, are just repeats really. I guarantee there is a bunch of questions you could answer for yourself just reading thru the other threads. They're never always on topic, I've learned things from a thread that had nothing to do with the topic.

I think he has really great questions, all of his topics he has posted have passed a page or two. Atleast they arent questions that are self explanitory.

The marshalling thing drives me crazy. I was at the ohio state fair race this year, and every time it was our turn to qualify noone would marshal. We raced after the electric cars and there was only 5 or 6 of them running. So we needed 3 or 4 extra guys to step up and fill in the open spots. We would do our 3 minute warm up, and then the race announcer would make us pull in the pits and shut our engines off while he begged people to come and help out. After 5 or 10 minutes of setting there waiting, someone would finally come up and we would start our qualifiers with cold engines.

I couldn't believe that none of the bigger named racers were coming up and helping out. If I would have been one of their sponsors I would have been very upset that they didn't offer their help.
This is really the case at all the races I have been in. It usually turns out that my group of friends end up being the only ones that help out marshalling, when they are short a person or two.

There needs to be some rule that if you don't show up when it's your turn to marshall, or find someone to take your spot, you are DQ'd with no refund.

Sorry about the rant about marshalling, but it drives me crazy when the entire event gets held up, becasue people won't help out.

I'm a witness of your group being out there all the time LOL. Every race I go to, that you guys are at, I see one of you out there marshaling in about every class. (much appreciated btw!) I do whenever I can. I'm usually wrenching on my stuff getting it ready for next round.

Yea I think its a requirement everywhere. At this race he was talking about, it was getting out of hand. At such a big event you would think people would be on their game. But no, they just chose not to turn marshal. And there were a few who would break early in their main and pack up and leave real quick before it ended so they wouldn't have to stay and marshal for the next main.
