Default CNC VS CARBON FIBER

I wanted to know which would be a better upgrade for a buggy CNC or Carbon Fiber.

Im not the greatest driver but I just want to know what people prefer.

You'll have to be more specific if you want to get any useful info out of your question. What parts are you looking to change? Each material has pros and cons with regards to application.

Its either aluminum or carbon fiber...

CNC is the machine used to cut the material. You can use a CNC machine to cut carbon fiber, plastic, aluminum and so on.

If your a good driver then carbon fiber is the way to go. In some cases its lighter and stronger. But aluminum will hold up longer in some major crashes!

That is exactly my first thought..

Like said before Aluminum and CF both have their pros and cons, depending on what you wanna replace, will depend on which you would use..

lol i want to put Computer Numerical Controled parts on my buggy!! all kidding aside, carbon fibre parts break and aluminum parts bend. would much rather have my parts break so i replace them right away. aluminum parts, you may not notice their bent and your car is driving strange for some reason.

Very true, but by the same token, a broken part ends your race, a bent part might slow you down but you can still finish.

Depends. A load sufficient enough to cause a (well made) carbon-fiber part to break would likely bend its aluminum counterpart enough to cause a DNF anyway. Aluminum has the advantage of being more resistant to abrasion and heat, whereas C/F is stronger overall and lighter.

Honestly, I think that titanium is an alloy that is under-exploited in our cars, and if it could be used to replace drive shafts, outdrives or gears, could offer a significant weight savings while offering a better compromise on wear.

Has anyone tried something similar to this? They're awfully inexpensive:

All of those, carbon fiber is going to be lighter, stiffer and highly unlikely to break.

i have used both on my mugen. I cracked the first front carbon tower i had after several very bad crashes. Went with the aluminum one and it took less to bend it. i went through 4 shock standoffs before i realized it was bent. It was throwing my whole front end off. Threw the aluminum in the trash and bought a updated version front shock tower. Never ever had a problem in a year. If you seal the edges they can last a very long time. I however put fironi shock tower covers on it for 20$ No way is it going to break. Looks brand new still.

Carbon fiber >>>>>> aluminum

never ever carbon shock towers on a buggy. sure aluminum can bend but allows you to finish the race. carbon cracks and you are done.

carbon is good for radio tray and center diff brace but thats about it.

If it was real titanium on those driveshafts they'd be a lot more $ than $20 for a pair. Knockoff titanium from HK!
