Who makes the best starter box to handle multiple cars??
Hi. I was wondering..
Who makes the best starter box to handle multiple cars??
Which startbox motor is stronger for those new /stubborn/hard to start
motors.
2 550 motors
or
1 12 volt motor.
Also, who makes a quick change plate you can add to 1 box to use it
for multiple cars?
Please post pics of you box.
Here are the ones I know of.
Ofna (several models)
Serpent
RD Logics
Losi

I took the hardware form the original Losi box and did some serious dremmel work to the ofna truggy box and now it will start both the buggy and truggy. It took some time but it has been worth it.

I don't think anyone makes "quick change" plates. I have thought that someone should though. I don't think you can even get permanent plates anymore. It wouldn't be that hard to make your own system though, with enough creative engineering.

i put 2 pins in the top of my starter box then drilled 2 corresponding hole in every chassis i have it worked on mbx6 mbx5t losi buggy and a turmoil. this was on the ofna chrome top with 1 12volt motor it works best if the chaasi is bare to line everything up i also clamped the box top to the chassis so i could line it up perfect .i have not noticed any problems from the holes in the chassis. that was my solution to the same problem you are having . later

Losi box has quick change for the buggy and truggy. I have had good luck with mine. When you get a new motor just make sure you use a heat gun on it until the metal pinch in the motor is gone and your good.

Losi universal starter box
the losi one works great, but it is only meant to work with the losi buggy and truggy...unless you do some modifying

Personally, I like the Duratrax Universal starter box. Does 1/10 and 1/8 on and offroad. It's like a triple threat. lol

I still like my mugen box for the ability to start every motor I ever had. With the addition of it being the smallest dimentions of any commonly available box its the only way I roll.
If your desperate to easily start any car have you considered the sheetmetal L bracket bolted to the box that fits through the flywheel slot in the chassis? Its a little sloppy but works pretty good(ish) for almost any car.

Starter Box
I asked because I thought the RD Logics 1/8th scale
box would do for all cars. I haven't tried them out yet,
but, they seem to have lots of adjustments.
Kinda built like the Ofna Chrome box, but, all yellow.
I have had the blue ofna box forever and I think it's on it ways to the
dumpster. It still works, but, i's geting a little sloppy.
