Default carb to close to centre diff?

hi there,

here are a few pics of my carburettor and my centre diff. sorry for bad pics.

top view

is the carb to close to the centre diff top plate? should i file the centre diff top plate down abit so there is a bit of clearance?

because i know that losi 8ight do have alot of flex and i have now fitted the BCE chassis and i don't want the carb and diff top plate to hit and damage the carb, should i be worried?

many thanks in advance

lewis

I had this exact issue with my 8T 2.0 same exact engine setup as my buggy, so im not sure why there is a clearance issue. I just rotated the carb a little until the slide cleared the top of the diff mount. People have posted that the two piece diff mount allows better clearance but i have not gotten around to installing it yet. I can post a pic if you're interested.

thanks for the comment

i was not looking to buy the split diff mount i wanted to clear it some more just to be on the safe side.

the carb does not hit the centre diff top plate but i wanted to clear it so it does not hit because of the flex of the chassis.

but i have rotated the carb around quite alot but i think i might have to file abit off the diff top plate and see it i can get a bit more clearance.

many thanks

lewis

I had this same problem with my buggy a couple weeks ago. All you have to do is loosen the screw that is holding in the carb, and then turn the carb clockwise (assuming the front of the buggy is closest to you) a little.

Had this on my old losi buggy - I got the dremel on the diff top mount ! Sounds drastic but a few mm removed cures the problem and you can keep the carb much straighter

The split center mount helps but the carb is still not completely happy unless you rotate it a little.
