In the winter here in Missouri we race electric 1/10 indoors. Wanted to know which off road 1/10 2wd or 4wd will help me prepare best for the summer 1/8 Nitro? I have been in the hobby one year and last winter raced a RB5 sp. This is my first season racing nitro RC8B. Great car! Traveling is out because of my work. Thanks

If u can drive 2wd fast, then u will have the foundation to drive anything fast. Electric will make ur driving smoother ans 2wd will teach u throttle control. Others may say 4wd will give u a better feel since your 1/8th buggy is 4wd but it all starts at 2wd.

There's a video out there in youtube land where Mayfield says when he goes to the jconcepts events where they run both 1/10th and 1/8th that he likes to get out there with his 2wd first and as much as he can, it makes driving all the other classes easier

+1 2wd is more difficult so I would say that would make you a better driver.

+1 i learned and raced 2wd buggy for years went 2 4wd nitro buggy and amazed people how much control i had of my nitro for the first time driving nitro
learn on a 2wd and u will be able to drive anything 4wd fast for shure

I was leaning toward x factory x-6 2wd. Seems 4wd is alot of wrenching. Thanks for your input. Maybe order one early since I know which one. RCTECH RULES!

I could convert my rc8b to brushless. It seems this class is getting larger.
So, there are alot of choices this winter.

2wd buggy like b4 and so on will teach you how to drive anything since they are really lights and pretty hard to control...Also i would go electric 4x4 like sc10,sc8e,slash 4x4 aswell it will give you a feel for 1/8 buggy but wont teach you like a b4 will.

I live in NC right now and will be moving back to MO in a couple of months and I bought a 2wd b4. I will be racing at smac I when with 2wd because I tought that it would help my driving. Good luck.

How about I convert my rc8b instead of sc10,sc8e or slash? I dont like how the slash drives but, I never drove a 4x4 slash. Still going to get an Rb5.
