I need some help on shiming the rear ring and pinion,I shimmed it by the book and it didnt make it the whole main.CAN SOMEONE HELP!!!!!!!

Shim it tighter. As tight as you can get it without it binding badly once you screw the diff case tight.

First of all make sure your rear drive-line has no forward/back play on the pinion. You have to hold the pinion in with your finger when tightening the set screw on the driveline. Looking at the back of the truck ,I like to add a shim or two to the left side to bring the ring gear closer to the pinion, so there is not alot of play. Like the other guys said shim it tighter. I just built a new rear diff last week and shimmed it to where it was a little knotchy(or high spot) about a 3rd of the way around. I almost thought it was too tight, but from reading on here thats what works. good luck

Get a new diff case and shim to that in the instructions... Make sure to use the alum bearing holders.

Shimming it by the book WILL cause issues. It has to be tight, and I mean TIGHT! Like Mike and Steve said, shim it as tight as possible without it binding up. You will notice a bit of a high spot on the ring gear where it is a little notchy. This is perfectly normal. As long as it isn't locking up, you will be fine.

This is what I do never looked back shimming from left to right looking towards the front.

Add one shim on the right starting shimming on ther left you will need to repeat this process a few times.

Keep shimming until it gets some what tight when it gets tight. I take the diff out and starting removing from the left adding to the right. I shim were the high spots get a tad notchty. The diff should have absolutely no play back and forth in the case it should be some what hard to place the diff

As Jam said buy the ALU inserts.

Get the 1.0 Rear diff case aand shim it... I run a brushless 8ight T and haven't killed a diff yet.o

I usually start with 2 shims on each side and then after a gallon or 2 put 3 on the left and 1 onthe ight to make it a little tighter.
