Rc8b Clutch set up Help
Hi all. My friend asked me to ask in the forum for some help. He has the Rc8b buggy and his Clutch shoes are bad and need to be changed. He doesnt have the money to buy new one so he asked me to lend him a losi 8ight clutch set up ( flywheel, clutch shoes & clutch bell) until he gets paid to get a set of rc8b shoes. Our question is, can My losi 8ight clutch set up work on his Rc8b buggy? I dont have his buggy to check myself because were not in the same city. He also said he try before a set of losi clutch shoes but they wont fit on the rc8b flywheel. Has anyone try losi clutch set up on the rc8b? Would they be any problem around the gas tank or any other area?

The AE takes a 16 tooth bell and he can't use his bell with your clutch.

There are several reasons it will not work. The shoes are not compatible. The main reason besides the bell is the flywheel, RC8 uses a unique flywheel compared to most buggies in which it is set back towards the front engine bearing so it will have enough clearance to clear the brake rotor.
Just get some shoes to fit the AE clutch and be done w it. |

If he had the money he would buy the clutch shoes but he has bills to pay first. I was lending him the money but his LHS doesnt carry associated parts and my Lsh are out of stock and he needs them for this weekend. Thats why we tring to use another set up. |

Thanks alot Shane. He appreciate you doing that for him. Just in case he doesn't receive the shoe before the weekend I just sent him a set of losi clutch set up (flywheel, clutch shoes & 14t bell) so he can check to see if it works for him.

Just when I'm about to give up on RCTech because of all the cons on here, here comes Shane and really changed my mind. Now that is what this hobby is all about. Good job Shane.

Thanks guys. Just hate to see someone not be able to race just because they can't get what they need in time.
I would love to go to motorama but it falls on my wifes birthday every year. |
