Default When to rebuild

I wanted to know when would be the ideal time to rebuild a nitro engine? Do i wait till it losing compression or after a certain amount of gallons. I dont bash just racing like twice a months, any suggestion would great.

I am running a Picco P3 .28

When it starts flaming out and getting hard to tune its time for overhaul and evaluation of parts. My suggestion is don't ruin a good thing. Only thing I check about every couple race days (after like 3 gallons on it) is the rod because it will ruin the crank pin is it gets sloppy.

Since I don't have English as my native language... What does "flaming out" mean?
I know my way around nitros but just not that phrase!
