Your heat gun is probably about 400 watts, so it should be fine. But you're already gone to use it?

I have two heat guns and one is rated at 1000 watts and the other is rated at 1200 watts. Double check your watt rating before you get an inverter.

i have been using the heat gun, with a extention cord but at my track there is never enough plug outlets so, thats why i need a inverter il just hook it up to my car battery.

its a pretty new engine stil tight lol.

i checked on the back of ..the heat gun and you can set it to 1000w or 120 v.
i only have a low heat setting and , a hot heat setting i have to use the hottest setting . but i use 120 v setting.

just a little advice on inverters........ get one a little larger than what u need....... the ratings on those things especially the cheeeepy ones are kinda over-rated. Typical for stuff like that though since most of it is chinese and price-point stuff.

also, if i remember correctly the rattings on inverters are for the peak power output. so if that one youre looking at is 800w peak, it will probably be 400w constant.

if your heat gun is 1000w. you need at least a 1100w constant power inverter.

this is probably about what you need: http://www.amazon.com/Whistler-PI-12.../dp/B000621X26
"1200 Watt continuous power, with 2400 Watt peak power"

ok yea that looks like a good one and you get free shipping.

heres the question though can, i switch my setting to 120 v and put it on the hot setting and still get, warm enough to 200 for my engine ?

because i have tried the low heat, setting and even when i tryed the 1000 w setting it was too cool ? 1000w on the hot setting i think would be too hot.

I use this heat gun http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...-Watt-Heat-Gun and it's only 300 watts and it gets twice as hot. A quality heat gun will be more efficient.

It does have a low and high setting. I will have to plug it into the one in my suv and see IDK.

Man my plug in the SUV only ways 100 watts and I paid a butload for that big fancy "L" on the front. But nope it wont fire the heat gun. I amsl looked at the side of the heatgun and it saws 1300 watts so maybe amain's site is wrong.

1200W @ 12V = 100 amps....that is why your vehicle doesn't have high power outlets...the wiring needs to be quite heavy. Keep the power leads as short as possible or you will loose a lot of power in the input wiring to your inverter.

As long as the temp. of the air coming off the heater is well over 200, it will get your engine up to temp....eventually.
