There are so many great kits out there, everyone will have their own opinion, you may want to read through some of pre-existing forums with in the first two pages you'll find forums for Mugen MBX6, 8IGHT 2.0!, Hyper 9 Kits in Stock!, Kyosho ST-RR, New XRAY 808, Odonnell Buggy!!!, Jammin' X2 Buggy, and so on.

The XRAY 808 '10 is one of the best 1/8 buggies that anyone can get. They thoroughly tested every aspect (as they do with all their machines) of it to ensure top quality. The 808 '10 is the best choice for anyone, from a rookie to a top-level pro. You won't be disappointed.

I used to run Xray. The quality is second to none. They like a fair bit of maintenance. Very light on their feet.

I switched to Losi, which seems to suit me better, I've gotten much faster with it.

Getting the popcorn... ;o)

Don't expect too many objective answers here, or anywhere else on the web for that matter. Almost everyone will tell you to get the buggy or truck that they own (after all, how could their choice be WRONG?!). Some will get more creative and say that this one and that one that I used to own are good, but my newest (fill in the blank) is the best EVAR!!!! It SHOULD be an easy question to answer objectively, but I wouldn't make any purchasing decisions based on the replies to this thread. A dart board might give you a better answer. ;o)

I would look at your local track to see what the common buggies are. That way, in a pinch, if you break a part, there is a good chance that someone would have the part you need. In my area there are a lot of kyoshos, mugens and associateds, and for some reason losis are not super popular. No x-rays, and very few ofnas (hyper 9's).

I chose Mugen based on parts availability at the track and have never been without something I need. Granted, I haven't broken much, but I have piece of mind that if I do, someone will have the part. I would highly recommend seeing what's running at your local race series, then narrow it down from there. I definately would take the recommendations here with a grain of salt.

I'm gonna be sorta objective.. Hot Bodies.. It is a World Champ, has the best bang for the buck, and handles as good or better then anything out there, and it is cheaper then any other competitive buggy on the market, by alot..

And, don't worry about the durability cause it is durable.. Only problems I have run across are the "OLD" front CVD's were weak, but on the new cars that has been fixed.

Oh and in the HB D8 thread Pro Driver Jesse Robbers Stops in about twice a week to give input. Not many other drivers do that for their brands..
