Default should i run 20% or 30%?

i have a nova 21-3port and a mach 26 that run great on 20% in my 8ight truggy...people tell me i should run 30%...i was just wondering if the higher nitro content will shorten the life of my motors?....if not then what shims should i use to run 30%?....ithink both of these motors were already ran with 30% cause i got them used from serious racers...i want to be as competitive as possible but dont have $ to replace internals any sooner than i have too!...as they are usually expensive

The extra nitro is not going to win you races. Spend your money on practice time and tires.

try them both.. See what you like better.. If you don't notice a difference stick with the cheaper product.

Good question. Are there any documented findings on the difference in acceleration and top speed between 20% and 30% Nitro?

I have only run Trinity 30% Platinum thru my Extech .21/.24 motors with over 7 gallons on each motor and both are still running strong. I would think longevity of motor also depends on your tune,( running temps). So if your leaning out 20% Nitro too much to get that extra power and running higher temps in motor, that could shorten life of motor. My Extech motors with 30% nitro will come off the track at a consistent 200 deg.
