Default Losi 8ight Xtreme Racing CF shock towers

I bent my front rtr shock tower on my 8ight. The local shop has some Xtreme Racing carbon fiber replacements. Anybody use these before, are they good or bad. Any feedback much appreciated.
or
Should I just order some Losi race roller replacements.

I used them for many many months before they broke. I assure when mine broke the aluminums would have too. I certainly wouldn't ne scared to buy them again. Guess it depends how you drive also.

I dont drive hard at all..........mine were treated and prepped properly, rear tower split on it's first race, funny thing is I was warned NOT to run them by everyone on the S-Grid.....it's a poor grade of CF.

do not use the Xtreme shocktowers... Used them for 10 minutes, no big crash or something, they just delaminated, very poor quality of carbon used. They do look good, but you can't use them. (hi Trevor!!)

I run them on my buggy saves weight very rigid.

Default Kingheadz

My son and I both run Kingheadz towers on our Losi 8ight Truggies. Very strong and some of the best customer service I have ever experienced.

I used some cf towers on my truggy and they were made of Boeing grade cf I ended up breaking both towers eventually. The alum ones will bend but not break. I can finish with a bm tower a broken towe usually results in a dnf. Stick with the roller alum towers. The kHz towers are good too. I run the fioroni tower on the front buggy it's very beefy but hard to find. I would stay away from the cf towers. IMO

I have two losi's, now I run a Hyper 9e, I'm going 100% Carbon Fiber. John of MoosRacing just made me a set of 6mm Carbon Fiber Shock Towers for my Hyper 9e. at 6mm, that's going to be very tuff, and it's extreemly high quality. it's really your choice. I know when it comes to carbon fiber, I like MoosRacing and Matrix Concepts Inc. Both excellent Choices for anyone. But it's really a matter of what you like. allot of people run both these companies and have great luck with them both. I've heard zero complaints nor regrets regarding any purchasis from either company. In fact, if you want to go all out, Robert of Matrix Concepts sells a complete carbon fiber kit. it's around three hundred dollars, and it comes with a carbon fiber chassis with built into the chassis replaceable skid plates, and replaceable droop screw plates. essentially a servicable carbon fiber chassis. not one of these chassis has broke from either company. and Matrix kit if you buy the complete kit, comes with shock towers, CF chassis and even aluminum drive shafts and couplers. Both Master Craftsmen. It would be good to at least check each company out. Robert and John both have their own web sites. Hope this helps. Oh, and the Carbon fiber chassis are lighter than the stock chassis by several ounces, and more flexible than the stock chassis. And again, will not brake. Shock towers, I've not heard of breaking either. Hope this helps.

If anyone has difficulties finding the Fioroni towers, A Main has them in stock, and the ones they have are the 2.0 versions. Fioroni also has EU spec towers as well, Absolute Hobbyz will have them next week and A Main should have them soon too. According to Fioroni, the EU towers have the same shock and upper arm mounting holes as the standard towers + the extra EU mounting holes.
