I will let you know how it goes before I leave feedback.

Bearings were replaced by (edit, by me) with new factory novas less than a half gallon ago, the motor was in a oily bag for storage. There is no scratch on the piston it is a rub mark, I thoroughly took the motor apart completely when I purchased it (again less than a half gallon ago) and saw and documented what your talking about. It's merely cosmetic and the motor runs fine.

LOL. Honestly, I would replace the front bearing(if it is leaking) and get a good tune on it. I bet it'll run. If not, well lesson learned I guess. I always preach the "don't buy used engines" theory. I've bought a couple used engines myself, but when I do it, I always think of the engine as parts Unless I know the seller personally. So far all of my purchases have turned out to be great runners with only a little bit of work and a couple of parts. But for someone that doesn't know engines inside and out like I do, it can be a bit of a pain getting everything in working order. Even the little stuff can screw you when it comes to engines.

It's a gamble...for sure.

Copped an RB from dsltsunami/DSKTsUNAMi...One bent head screw holding it together. Front bearing falling out, ribs missing in the sleeve, rod flopping like a fish....the list goes on and on. Will not acknowledge or make any attempt to make good on the deal. Handle change in an attempt to hide from me...real nice, Ken....

On a far brighter note...copped three mills for the price of one from helivaguy.
421B completely gone through and just as described...meanest thing on the planet. Nicknamed the "Angry Onion" at the track...
An RB and PX5 in great shape...needing a pinch in the near future...once again...exactly as described. Bag of two extra carbs and motor mounts included at no extra cost.

$120 for the world class rip off....

$120 for the world class deal....

It's a crap shoot...win some...lose some.
As I am in the mood to name drop...let me add...
Copped an S7 from icemandolmite...the best 75 clams I've ever spent. Still my "go to" mill for the main...I'll play with all the other mills in practice and qualifying, but this ol' workhorse goes in for the main nine times out of ten. Passes everything but a fuel stop. Gallons and gallons on this one...

Also..copped a Toro, but can't find the info...tremendous deal here as well..gallons on this one as well...

Far more good than bad from my perspective on this forum.

Houston Tuned Novarossi P5X
It doesnt matter, he never stated the front bearing was bad, if the front bearing is bad and the seller didnt tell me about it.. i would be getting a full refund from the seller.

If the bearing or anything else is bad and he didnt tell you, then he flat out lied about it. Nuff said.

Don't get me wrong, I have gotten some great deals on here. That is why I'm so ticked off about it. If he had been straight forward about the sleeve and everything I wouldn't be ticked, but I wouldn't be out my loot either!. But for me to get it and then he says, oh yeah, there is a scratch on the piston and sleeve is BS. If he hides that, what else didn't he tell me?
I didn't want to name drop either, someone else did that further up.

+1 An engine in a bag laying on its side, with some oil in it is going to seep through the front bearing. I agree with Jammin, seal it up good, fire it up and tune it in and enjoy your Nova.

And to the guy that's wants a refund over a $15 bearing- ??????

The oil and dirt was from the seller running the motor. He did not clean it before he sent it. That is what I mean when I say the bearing leaked. He sent it with the clutch shoes and bell on it. It did not come in that baggy in the picture.
