I know the title says $450, but the mugen is a little more expensive, parts are plentiful on ebay, and the car doesn't wear out quickly.

I've had my 6 for nearly two years now. Only weakpoint was the front shock tower, and early versions woudl crack the chassis at the motor hole.

From what I understand they should be coming any time now. I have an SG on back order with Tower Hobbies. Kind of hard to beat $60 off coupon

I also have $100 off $500 or $120 off $600 making the RC8B $400 shipped and Mugen $475.

I say go ahead and get an Xray. This is 1/8 scale, even if you start with a inexpensive roller you will end up with alot money in it. If you have never owned an XRAY you should at some point in your hobby lifetime. I own alot of rides and the 808 is solid. I have a 8b also and I use it for my backup. If you keep an eye on the diff bearings in the Xray you will get many gallons before plastic wears or slop developes. You have to experience it to believe it

Xray has really nice products but the cost of spares is crazy. I ownded a NT1 and it was nuts. Some of the parts were 3 times more then the equivalent was for Serpent or Mugen.

Yeah that would be nice!! They have the Team AE RC8B on easy pay right now too. I gonna wait for SG.

I have the O'donnell SS.21 and R2 pipe ready to bolt in to SG buggy :-)

yeah i thought that was you. i think it was your first race with it. i almost bought one because of watching your truggy, but i didnt want to buy their first truggy and at that point i already knew of the SG and didnt want to have to buy twice.

i might end up buying another OD soon.

If they won the event they won the event doesn't matter who showed or didn't show up. It's like saying so and so won a Nascar race because of who showed up.

Every single buggy and truggy out there has revisions. Jammin X1 then X2 same thing with Losi and Mugen etc. They have had Team buggy and original buggy now coming out with the SG. Same with their truggy.

Have nothing against OD. I run MANY of their products. I just tell it how I see it. What I have seen is that the OD buggies aren't that great. Maybe the new SG's will be better. I just wouldn't put them on my list personally.

By the way, it matters very much who was in attendance at a race. It's not like a national title, where you won it no matter who was there. In a smaller scale race like the Odonnell race, if no one of note attended besides Odonnell's best drivers, having won the race doesn't really mean anything. Not to mention the fact that it doesn't really matter who is winning at the Pro level. I'm more concerned about a vehicle's competitiveness at the lower levels. From what I have seen the Odonnell vehicles aren't there yet. Maybe the SG's will change that. I can't say for sure, so I won't recommend them to anyone until I have seen it happen. For now, I recommend the tired and true. Losi, Mugen, HB, and AE.

i TQd a pretty big money race in pro buggy with my dads OD, the one weekend he let me run. i was leading the main and just started having brain farts and wasnt driving it as hard and couldnt stay off the inside pipes. these buggies need to be driven hard to work and they turn extremely good, almost to good.

but still HB and mugen are pretty close to the OD but i think the OD turns a little better IMO.
