Default 1/8th buggy magazine reviews

I was reading and searching through the various 1/8th buggy threads and realized what I was ultimately searching for. A magazine review of the various buggies. Kinda like a buggy shootout. Anyone know of an magazine article like that?

Maybe we can start posting links to 1/8th buggy magazine reviews?

thanks

Default Shootout

Havn't read any shootouts in a while. But you're really going to get better feedback about various buggies on their respective threads here on RCTECH. Many, but not all, magazine reviews are just long-winded advertisements. I'd stick with the brands that have been out for a while and ones your local hobby shop stocks.

Also, you don't have to buy the expensive buggies to get quality. Hot Bodies is one of the best on the market in terms of performance and durability and they are the most inexpensive as well. Don't fall for the hype either. The fact is a good driver with an average car can beat a average driver with a high-dollar ride all day long.

The only magazine Shootout I know of.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0mQdx...ext=1&index=54

That was in 2007. Derek said there are too many cars to test to do another shootout and it would end up costing to much money.

I understand that most mag rc car reviews end up being a advertisement, similar in moto-x bike world. The benefit of moto-x bike shootouts is that they allow you to glean certain trends or observations as well as get ride reviews from different levels of riders. I think the same can be done by having various levels of rc drivers. So one 1/8th might be good for newbies and another may be good for experts.

The shootouts would need to have all cars use the same engine, same tires, and be on the same track. Set-ups would be out of the box and tested. And then the reviewers can do set-up changes to see if the car gets better for them.

I understand there is a lot of good feedback in these forums and that is why i come here. It is just hard to sift through in a summary format since some car threads are over 400 pages long. I end up doing a search for topics that interest me but sometimes those keywords are not used.

Just some thoughts and feedback. Thanks for others who have shared.

I havenít seen a comparison review done but I have seen/read the reviews on the buggy its self. From there they give you their opinions of them what they like disliked. But I donít think we will be seeing any heads up reviews any more because there are so many of them now.
