Default Picco crank pin - conrod play

I noticed my Picco P3 .28 still had a bit of play between the crankpin and conrod even after replacing the conrod. I thought maybe the crankpin was worn too much untill i took a NIB Picco P7-R evo 3 that i have sitting here. This brand new engine also has some play between the crankpin and conrod. I know some play is normal as there needs to be some room for lubrication but it is noticably more then my other engines (GRP and MR Ninja).

I assume this is normal since the used Picco has about the same play as the new Picco (and it runs great) but was wondering if anyone else ever noticed this - Picco's having more crankpin play then other engines?

i have noticed it too, but it does not cause problems. My Trinity Adam Drake Platinum .21 is a Picco made mill. I have 2, one fully Draked, one standard version for parts. They both have a tick of slop. As long as i keep on top of the bearings it purs and makes tons of power. 7 gallons so far.

It's weird as most engines are usually really tight, specially when new. It doesn't seem to cause problems and Picco's usually last a long time...maybe it's done to allow for better lubrication of the crankpin.
