that wouldnt eat tires at all...you could likely run slicks...if it got dusty just rinse it off....if it got damaged it would be easy to repair.... And of course that would have 100% traction at all times.... Would be wild for sure ! I wonder what it would cost ?

That's what I was thinking. What I use is this glue treatment that looks like Elmers glue diluted 5 water to 1 and at first the track is incredible but once you start to get a blue groove onto it the track starts becoming less and less traction. It does burn through tires though, and traction depends on how much you sweep the track since you don't water the track. It doesn't blow out as much though.

+1..

I think it would be incredible for an on-road course.. I am not so sure how well it would go over for Off-road styled track.. Casing a Jump, or coming up short would casue big problems, and people would get tired of fixing cars very quickly..

That's exactly what I was thinking. Traction would be unbelievable and if you could run slicks or very short pin tires, it wouldn't wear them out.

Isn't this basically the material they use in playgrounds? It is a sort of soft rubbery surface.

yep thats the stuff.. but from what i have been looking at they use crushed tires first then cap it with new colored rubber.. and they make it thick so when kids fall hey dont get hurt as easy.

Yeah, we don't need the pretty colored rubber for an RC track. That should cut the costs down some. This is an interesting idea. I'm not sure how cost effective it would be considering you would have to tear it up every time you changed your layout. That would force tracks to keep the same layout for a long time, and that gets boring. It sounds like a lot of money and a lot of work. But it would be cool to see.
