I share your opinion, but I'd like to add, the RC8B is quite an old design, compared to the latest cars that have been released. So people who are willing to spend some money on a new rig will tend to buy one of the newer and lighter cars, I'd suppose. So, to keep up - and increase - sales, AE should come up with a revised car for next season.

The "old design" has won many big races against the new cars. It obviously works for some. This newer arm shock tower design will just make it better.

Not to mention the Kyosho MP9 uses the same "old tech" as the RC8B and noones ranting on that

Hell ya! The Losi came out months before AE came along. If I remember right I think they even made the 2.0 before or it may have been a few months after.

Plus Neobuggy did say AE put the pig on a diet!

Let me say this, I do like the "B" and I think it is is a good buggy.......Here comes the "But" AE is just IMO lacking in quality and design. Again, it is a good car and it obviously wins races.

I just think the quality is far behind compared to other cars right now. The Mugens, Kyosho's etc. are way ahead of of AE. The braking system to me is just generic, the fuel tank situation is rediculous, fuel line routing, the engine mount, stock hubs (cast aluminum and plastic), etc. No doubt all of these items can use some engineering and need to be redesigned.

Now, the car works and it wins races. It just to me, it is not a quality car. I still run AE and have done so due to the help I have recieved from AE team drivers, with out them, I would have jumped ship along time ago. I am moving on for 2011 unless AE steps it up.

I just want to make myself clear, I like the car, the drivers etc. and I am not bashing it. I have had to put $300.00 into every car to get its weight down and make it competitive (TI screws, Hubs, KH mounts etc) I just want more quality......

With so many new innovative buggy designs coming out i think the rc8 is overdue for some new thought and improvement to compete in the sales race. There is so much competition for the rc dollar

at jbrl rd 7 got to look at a ae with the new style towers looked good say it helps jumping a bunch makes the spring of face like mugen and lands soft
i was told that ae has been testing new car not all new but alot diff. then the b lighter and with alot of needed upgrades
was told the new car will be right at the minimum weight limit and have more of the upgraded parts on it out of the box and will be more driver friendly for the average driver.
i do not run ae but would like to see them put on a come back and get up to par with the other top buggies

It looks like Saxton has some "closer to production" revised towers on his ride. From the 2010 Sidewinder Nitro Explosion. They are machined aluminum, not the CF like the others:
